RSPB Insh Marshes

One of the most important sites for birdlife in the area, the largest unspoilt floodplain in Scotland supports a diverse population of summer breeding birds and is a haven for overwintering wildfowl, as well as special plants and rarely-seen raptors.

MAIN SPECIES: Goldeneye, Whooper Swan, Greylag Goose, Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier.

DON'T FORGET TO: Visit shortly before dusk, when many birds return to the marsh to roost after a day's feeding elsewhere.
